New Moon in Gemini
Healing and Realigning in a Time of Great Unrest
May 25th, 2017
Although this process has been challenging for most, it has given us a valuable opportunity to begin integrating the unconscious and the conscious; to examine and heal the deepest aspects of our emotional self that were locked away in limiting beliefs, and to discover a new inner identity that is free of outer attachments and labels. We have the understanding we need to feel deeply into our most emotional experiences, to objectify, heal and transmute those wounds, traumas and complexes that still affect us in the present moment, and to release them with self compassion and without judgment.
A time of both deep healing and extreme upheaval, this theme continues with today’s New Moon in Gemini. As we begin to re-adapt our newly-evaluated sense of self in the outer world, the current energy patterns are supporting a process of liberation; of releasing ourselves from patterns and emotional connections that no longer support our new evolutionary direction, and making new space for re-growth to occur — for what truly resonates with our souls.
Let’s take a look at the evolutionary intention of the current astrological alignments.
Saturn in Sagittarius opposite Mars in Gemini
Perceptions we internalize as truths (we all have them) can support us and give us a sense of security, but can also serve as feelings and ideas that limit our ability to be free and to truly be ourselves in the living moment. Slowing evolving our new perceptions of truth, Saturn’s 3-year transit though Sagittarius is helping us uncover all those outdated truths that no longer support our life’s expression and evolution, and its connection with inner planet Mars at the present time is helping to bring the nature of that evolution into focus. (More on that below.)
What is that focus uncovering? Broadly speaking, we are seeking to find more soulful experiences; we are seeking to live more authentic lives, and to be guided by what matters most to us in this life. Mars in Gemini’s opposition to Saturn in Sagittarius is asking us to explore and be curious about new adventures and outlooks — however this can also manifest as a feeling of being confined and limited in the current space you are in. Saturn and Uranus are forming a powerful trine at the moment, leading us to focus on making our new ideas real, while Mars is forming not only an opposition to Saturn but also a trine to Jupiter, giving us a real energetic openness to change and transformation. This is a great time to explore new ventures.
Venus in Aries conjunct Uranus in Aries opposite Jupiter in Libra and square Pluto in Capricorn
A very influential energy is reflected by the formation of Venus and Pluto’s square alignment. This square in combination with the opposition to Jupiter and conjunction with Uranus brings us deep desires to liberate (Uranus) from pre-existing relationships patterns (Jupiter/Libra), and to then emotionally sever (Pluto) from those patterns and experiences, so that new space for re-growth can occur.
This marks a very powerful point in our evolution. After spending so much time in the space between no longer and not yet, we are beginning to realign ourselves with new opportunities and changes in our lives, releasing the dynamics that no longer serve us, and seeking out more enriching experiences and connections that makes our souls feel nourished.
Pluto generally helps us process deep feelings that keep us from knowing our truth, and these current planetary alignments in combination reflect a very intense energy pattern — so it is wise to stay grounded and be mindful of others, and of your own thoughts and actions. We each carry a tremendous amount of suppressed emotional pain, and this is a time in which we may be inclined to project it onto others. But take heart; the energy of Pluto in Capricorn here encourages us to feel brave, and to know that whatever emotion or darkness is brought to our surface, whatever wounded, traumatized aspects of ourselves we come to understand, we can deal with it — and we can heal from it.
The Sun and Moon in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces trine Jupiter in Libra
This alignment marks an important phase in our ongoing evolutionary development. With the two luminaries — the Sun and Moon — forming a conjunction in Gemini, we are set to flow into a new direction during the coming month, and the Sun’s passage through Gemini (a sign of relativity) will bring about many layers of expression for us. The key to navigating this cycle is adaptability.
We are going through many layers of change at the moment, simultaneously severing entanglements and creating new connections, and this can bring about much mental unrest and insecurity. Gemini’s energy helps us to diversify, to experience with openness, interactivity and curiosity, however, with the Sun and Moon making a square formation to Neptune in Pisces, information and understanding may easily get lost in translation — and this interplay may add an extra layer of complexity to the month ahead.
Nonetheless, as Gemini correlates to how we intellectualise our reality, the energy of this alignment gives us a valuable opportunity to objectively see how our dialogue with others — and with ourselves — actually plays out. Am I really hearing others? Am I really being heard? How do others define their reality? How does their reality relate to my own?
Ultimately, we are looking for those with whom we are able to relate to through resonance. As we release the dynamics that no longer serve us, we are also organically gravitating toward individuals, dynamics, social groups and associations we want in our lives — those connections that speak to our souls. This alignment supports us in seeking to build new relationships with those who share our nature, desires, ideas and perspectives, and who may support our creation and experience of a soul-fulfilling life (and vice versa.)
Moon’s Nodal Axis moves from Virgo/Pisces to Leo/Aquarius
Earlier this month, the Nodes of the Moon moved into the opposing signs of Leo and Aquarius. The Nodes of the Moon are two abstract points in space that as energetic archetypes, reflect the transition from past experiences to the potential new. Every 18 months or so, the nodes switch signs and we experience a shift in the focus of lunar energy. From November 2015 until May 2017, the nodes moved through the signs of Virgo and Pisces, marking a period of great reflection and deconditioning. Generally speaking, this shift into the signs of Leo and Aquarius will mark a very significant period of healing for many people, and a time in which we learn to integrate what we have learned and become more present with ourselves, each other, and our communities.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
New Moon Message: Aligning with the nature of reality in a time of healing and upheaval
We have reached yet another crossroad in this long and winding path. We are processing multiple layers of our lives all at once, working through the remnants of our old way of life as the new is simultaneously being brought into our awareness. With a sense of being a part of something greater than ourselves that our minds are unable to grasp, we keep moving forward, processing the darkness that arises from the past and taking steps towards what feels like the future, as new opportunities emerge from the shadows.
As we move from the old way of being in the world, we find that we must create ourselves a new way of life that is aligned to and supports the natural arrangement of reality. In the past we have created our reality from will and perseverance, but this approach is no longer supported by the new energetic reality of our world. We humans have taken this way of co-creation to the limits of what our physical bodies and the Earth herself can sustain. The old ways of being must be replaced by a completely different way, in order for us to co-create a completely different reality. As a natural part of the process, we can also experience a sense of loss as we let go of our old ways; loss of what we wanted our life to be and how we had hoped for our experience to manifest. But we need to let go of that false sense of knowing, to make way for life to reveal to us what we are here to be a part of and how that experience will unfold for us — experiences we could have never known were available for us.
The advancement of the human mind, our communication and organisation skills, forever changed humanity’s evolutionary direction. We moved from being ruled by instinct and intuition to being ruled by the conscious mind; and it changed what we are. We moved away from the life of the animal kingdom and onto a path of mastery. We mastered our natural abilities and learned to cultivate the world in our favor, and over time we became the relative sovereigns of our reality — and yet we still hold on to the mentality that we are merely surviving. Surrounded by abundance and perched at the top of the ‘food chain’, we humans experience fear and lack — and this creates duality and conflict.
But now, we find ourselves at another critical point in humanity’s evolutionary journey. Humanity is evolving beyond being ruled by the mind… to AWARENESS. Awareness is intuition understood and translated by the evolved mind. Where intuition in its purest form can only be available and acted on in the moment, awareness is translated and integrated through the advanced conscious mind. Thus, the integration of intuition and instinct with the newly-developed processes of the conscious mind is a natural, inevitable progression in humanity’s evolution.
We have the ability to thrive through this Shift and create a truly advanced civilisation, but we must surrender the mind (and the status afforded to it) as our primary guide and foster the development of human awareness, in all its forms. As individuals and as a society, we must learn to be guided by the awareness that we are not separate from anything, only that we are manifestations of the impulses created by the greater forces of our co-existence, moving us to the right place at the right time with the right connections to express our perfectly designed individuality.
The current structures are crumbling, both the internal structures of our minds and the external structures of our societies, and as this happens, we are creating new structures — organic natural structures, where duality is reflected in diversity, not conflict. The creation of these organic structures, however, is only possible when we integrate and manifest our internal awareness into the outer world, following our most authentic internal impulses and trusting that we are not the sole creators but the co-creators of our new reality, relating to each other through resonance. We are each a part of nature’s evolution, which continually guides and organises individuals into a perfectly orchestrated reality — and we all have our perfect part to play.
Live as you love to…
Love and accept yourself as you are…
Get off the sidelines and follow your passion…
Be flexible in your direction without compromising who you are…
Move forward with modesty and integrity, and watch your life unfold from within.
